Class Description:

Have you always wanted to try your hand at acting but didn't know where to start? Looking to further your craft with a new coach and expand your crafts' toolbox? Thinking about getting into a new career path or just want to become a more confident performer? Then this beginning acting course we call Subtext is for you.

Taught by Lon Bumgarner & Marilyn Carter, this course is a "learning by doing" foundation study in Authentic Acting, instilling your ability to achieve objectives and strategies and fostering your understanding of the actor's relationship to film.

Each week you'll tackle a new script with a scene partner while receiving coaching and instruction, as well as peer feedback. Your on-camera work is digitally recorded along with your instruction, so you can review your progress at home. This class is all about laying the foundation (or refurbishing it!) to an acting method in a safe, fun and compassionate environment. Both instructors have over 60 years combined professional experience in the industry and teach at the university level.
